I usually write stuff with nodejs and react, but here's some things I like to work with and learn.
My personal projects are currently offline as I am updating how they are managed and deployed.
eqliving magazine was in need of a mobile friendly design update. working with the site owner, i installed a new theme and implemented a number of customizations. the new theme allowed us to remove a number of conflicting and outdated plugins. in the end i feel we achieved a modern-looking, mobile friendly experience with a more maintainable codebase.
check out the sitea simple wordpress site created for a painting business in the saratoga springs area. this was my first actual deployment of a wordpress site and it was a great chance to dive into some unfamiliar territory. i utilized a free theme from fame themes. i was able to do some customization via child themes as well which was great. i also had the opportunity to play with aws lambda functions and i scratched the surface of twilio.
check out the sitethis is a fun project that i started as a video sharing community for my friends and i. there were a lot of times we would share videos via facebook chat, but we were busy during the day, at work, school, etc and the video would go unwatched. previously running on a lamp stack, it now runs on sails.js (mvc framework for nodejs), angularjs and mongodb. problem solved.
check out the sitea school project using php, js, and svg to make a chat and turn based game. there is a login system integrated all running on mysql via ajax calls. the game itself was a remake of hexxagon which was originally inspired by ataxx.this was a final project for one of my courses at rit and was a lot of fun to build. feel free to make an account or two and play with a friend.
